God's Church ... Grace For All

Pastor Ponderings

 A Message from the Pastor...
I think it was Benjamin Franklin who said "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes...".  I beg to differ.  There is a third certainly in life: CHANGE.  Life is constanly changing. Nothing stays the same. About the time we get accustomed to one stage in life, another is upon us. Every time we think we understand a situation, something comes along to change it. When we feel we have finally settled down into a routine, we wake up only to discover that "our cheese has been moved," and we have lost our job, our loved one has died, our house has been foreclosed, we have a chronic or life threatening disease, or there has been some other upheaval in our life. It is often hard to deal with the ups and downs and with the changes that come our way.
Whatever changes we all must face in life, there is one further certainly that we who are Christian believers can count on.  That is the love of God for us that is shown through Jesus Christ. God's love for us will never change.  And God's love can sustain us if we will draw upon it for strength and encouragement.
My prayer for you is that your changes will be positive and bring joy rather than difficulty and sadness. But even more so, my prayer is that you will place your trust in God and carry in your heart the certainly of God's sustaining love throughout any changes you may be experiencing.  Together let us remind one another of God's love, and perhaps we can together face changes as opportunities rather than crises.  May it be so for you and for me!
Blessings and God's peace!
